The California Golden Bears and Nike recently unveiled the new brand identity for Cal athletics, which includes a complete update to the football uniform that incorporates an all new HydroSkin® finished helmet by HGI.
Nike has been developing the new Cal brand identity for over two years, but things have been in the works between the two for even longer. HGI was then brought in for their expertise in helmet design to showcase the long standing tradition of the California Golden Bears, but with a few subtleties added to enhance the Nike Pro Combat Uniforms. The result is the all new Cal Golden Bears Blue Satin Textured HydroSkin® helmet finished by HGI.
With Nike spearheading the Cal re-branding, HGI was asked to transform Nike's designs into technologically advanced HydroSkin® finishes, while also keeping a traditional appearance for the new helmets.
