The University of Oregon and Hydro Graphics Inc. (HGI) have recently released the latest Ducks HydroSkin® helmet. This will serve as part of the uniform to be worn in the 2013 Spring Game to honor America's troops overseas.


Oregon and HGI have long worked together to bring new and exciting looks to one of the top teams in the NCAA. Whereas last years helmets were brought together featuring HydroChrome® wings finished on either side, this helmet features the debut of the all new finish known only as Titanium. This brand new finish once again ups the ante for what is possible with helmet finishing by HGI.


The helmets also feature for the first time a two-tone HydroSkin® wing pattern that fades from the signature Oregon Ducks yellow, to a dark matte finish tip. These helmets will lay the path for the 2013 season.

The California Golden Bears and Nike recently unveiled the new brand identity for Cal athletics, which includes a complete update to the football uniform that incorporates an all new HydroSkin® finished helmet by HGI.


Nike has been developing the new Cal brand identity for over two years, but things have been in the works between the two for even longer. HGI was then brought in for their expertise in helmet design to showcase the long standing tradition of the California Golden Bears, but with a few subtleties added to enhance the Nike Pro Combat Uniforms. The result is the all new Cal Golden Bears Blue Satin Textured HydroSkin® helmet finished by HGI.


With Nike spearheading the Cal re-branding, HGI was asked to transform Nike's designs into technologically advanced HydroSkin® finishes, while also keeping a traditional appearance for the new helmets. 

 

HGI is very proud to be a partner with Nike and the California Golden Bears for this exciting new announcement and we are excited to see the new helmets in action this Fall. Oregon State and Nike recently unveiled the new brand identity for Oregon State athletics, which includes a complete update to the football uniform that incorporates three new HydroSkin® finished helmets by HGI.


Nike has been developing the new Oregon State brand identity for over two years, but things have been in the works between the two for even longer. HGI's involvement with Oregon State and Nike began in the Spring of 2009 when Oregon State field tested a few HydroSkin® finished Riddell helmets, the first ever field tests for HGI's HydroSkin® helmets, so when Nike came to HGI with final design concepts for the new Oregon State football helmets, HGI was more than ready to jump on the opportunity. 


HGI has kept in close contact with Oregon State's football equipment manager Steve "Lightning" McCoy in the hopes of one day working with Oregon State to develop new HydroSkin® helmets. With Nike spearheading the Oregon State re-branding, HGI was asked to transform Nike's designs into technologically advanced HydroSkin® finishes, while also keeping a traditional appearance for the new helmets.
