At HGI, it seems like it is football year round. Recently we finished a new helmet for Virginia Tech that is not only unique, but also for a great cause. Virginia Tech will be wearing a new helmet in 2012 finished in HGI multi-camo HydroSkin®. And this new helmet, along with other Virginia Tech camo merchandise, is specifically for a fundraiser to support the Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project was created to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid as well as provide direct programs for the needs of injured service members. This new camo helmet will be worn in one game this coming season against Bowling Green on Military Appreciation Day, after which the helmets will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project. The goal is to raise $25,000 for a good cause. For more info on Virginia Tech's new camo helmet by HGI and the fundraiser, click the following links:

HGI offers services for a variety of industries and one of our favorites has to be motorsports. Since 2008, HGI has been working with Gemini Racing, the designers and builders of Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) SuperBikes. This year Gemini asked HGI to create unique, camo accent to the #54 National Guard Jordan Suzuki. The result is a two-tone tribute to our troops in the HGI HydroSkin® Multicam pattern.

Michael Jordan Motorsports kicks off the AMA Pro Racing National Guard SuperBike season at Daytona International Speedway this weekend. Roger Lee Hayden will be aboard the #54 National Guard Suzuki, and he is riding high on the heels of successful pre-season testing. “My crew has put in the hours, blood, sweat and tears to give me a bike that I can be successful on. I’ve been ready since New Jersey to get back on the box,” said Hayden.

HGI is very excited to be a part of the Michael Jordan Motorsports 2012 season. For more information on the #54 National Guard Jordan Suzuki, please visit the Michael Jordan Motorsports website and Facebook page.

When Chad Stelling, coach of the Oregon State University men's lacrosse team, saw what many football teams had done to the design of their helmets this past fall he wondered if the same was possible for lacrosse. After some research he found out that HGI's HydroSkin® technology was the answer teams had found and HGI was right in his backyard.

Stelling quickly contacted HGI last fall and work began on the project to debut the new helmet for the Beaver's 2012 season. The helmet features a matte/textured black shell with orange HydroChrome™ chin guard and mask. The Oregonian caught up with Stelling and our team at HGI for a full interview on the project and how it could possibly influence the future of Oregon State athletics.
